The largest church in Hungary is placed on the bank of the Danube just near the Slovakian border in the town of Esztergom. From the 10th to the 13th century Esztergom was the capital of Hungary, but the story of the town dates long back in time - people have lived there since the end of the Ice Age. During my stay in Hungary I had the pleasure to visit Esztergom and the Basilica twice, it is definitely worth the ride from Budapest. I took this photo from the Mária Valéria bridge that joins Slovakia and Hungary.
